Impulse Optics is now offering Dielectric Mirrors

Friday, March 16th, 2007

Encinitas, CA, March 16, 2007 - Impulse Optics is now offering narrowband and broadband dielectric mirrors. Dielectric mirrors are highly reflective and are ideal for laser and optic applications. Narrowband dielectric mirrors are available in wavelengths of 441.6 nm to 1500 nm, and broadband mirrors are available in wavelength ranges 450-700 nm, 650-1000 nm, and 1000-1400 nm.

Narrowband laser line mirrors are designed for high reflectance with high laser damage thresholds at specific laser wavelengths, and are suitable for laser cavities or other laser applications. Dielectric multilayer coatings are deposited on the laser grade substrates using physical vapor deposition (PVD) technologies. These coatings are extremely durable, making them resistant to damage from repeated cleanings.

Broadband dielectric mirrors are highly reflective over a wide range of wavelengths, and are designed for tunable laser and white light applications. The specific wavelength range is determined by the combination of different dielectric stacks. Broadband dielectric mirrors that fully cover the visible spectrum, Ti:sapphire output spectrum, or the near infrared spectrum are available. Broadband dielectric mirrors are often used as laser cavity mirrors, thin-film beamsplitters, hot and cold dichroic mirrors and the coatings on modern mirrorshades. They are intended for use at 45° incidence. Normal incidence is available on request.

Impulse Optics Introduces a Ti:sapphire One Box Laser System

Wednesday, February 14th, 2007

Encinitas, CA, February 13, 2007 - Impulse Optics introduces a Ti:sapphire one box laser system, which incorporates a Ti:sapphire oscillator and pump laser into a convenient single box design.  The Ti:sapphire laser one box system offers high reliability and performance, and can be customized for any required output specifications.

The Ti:sapphire femtosecond one box laser system includes a Ti:sapphire oscillator and a 4W or 6W pump laser.  There is integrated cooling for increased stability and long life diode banks to ensure long running performance.  Optional beam monitoring and active cavity stabilization are available.  This affordable system provides a complete ultrafast laser solution based on proven design and high quality components for research and commercial purposes.

The standard Ti:sapphire femtosecond one box laser system generates pulses in the near-infrared from 710-950 nm, has pulse durations available from 15 to 100 fs, and output power up to 500 mW.  The easy setup and small footprint make it ideal for any ultrafast laser applications.  Applications include research, imaging, microscopy, material processing, and spectroscopy; the system can also be used as a seed oscillator for amplifier systems.  Impulse Optics offers amplifier systems and a full line of related accessories, including pulse measurement products, optics, and wavelength conversion products.

Impulse Optics Introduces Femtosecond Laser Accessory Kit

Wednesday, December 6th, 2006

San Diego, CA, December 4, 2006 - Impulse Optics introduces the femtosecond laser accessory kit. The kit includes accessories that will help set-up, install, and use a femtosecond laser. Ultrafast laser optics and high performance opto-mechanical components are bundled together in one box for convenience and expedited ordering.

The kit is a package of optical and mechanical components specifically chosen to facilitate the setup and execution of ultrafast laser experiments using a Ti:sapphire femtosecond oscillator. Optical components included have optimal performance over the Ti:sapphire spectral range 700-950 nm. The kit includes pump mirrors, steering mirrors, tweezers, cleaning supplies, detectors, IR card, beamsplitters, cables, and filters, all fundamental building blocks to route the ultrafast oscillator or amplifier source to your experiment.

Included photo detectors allow detection of the oscillator pulse train. Filters and beam splitters remove stray green pump laser light and cut down residual infrared light for second harmonic experiments. Optics for steering the 532 nm green pump laser and for control of the oscillator output are included. Additional items include an infrared viewing card for locating and examining the near infrared output and appropriate optical cleaning supplies.

Impulse Optics is now offering LiF Optics

Tuesday, November 21st, 2006

Impulse Optics is now offering lithium fluoride (LiF) optics. LiF is used for windows, mirrors, and refracting components in the ultraviolet, visible, and infrared. LiF has the lowest refractive index of all common infrared materials. It also transmits ultraviolet radiation more effeciently than any other material, with a transmission range of 150 - 6000 nm.

LiF optics are used in many applications, including imaging, thermal imaging, astronomy, microlithography, x-ray monochromators, heat sink materials, laser research and for the study of fundamental properties and defects in crystals. LiF optics are available as lenses, windows, beam splitters, optical filters, wedges and prisms.

Impulse Optics Introduces Variable Attenuator / Beamsplitter

Monday, November 6th, 2006

San Diego, CA, November 7, 2006 – Impulse Optics introduces a variable attenuator / beamsplitter. The variable attenuator / beamsplitter is designed to work with lasers at a variety of wavelengths to provide an affordable and easy solution to dividing beams.

The Variable Attenuator / Beamsplitter divides an incident polarized light beam into two beams by 90°, the intensity ratio of the two beams can be continuously varied by rotating the input half-wave plate. This high-performance unit can be used as a beamsplitter in holography and precision interferometry applications and as an efficient attenuator for general laboratory applications.

The unit includes two half-wave plates set in graduation disks. The input half-wave plate is used to adjust the intensity ratio, while the output half-wave plate revolves the polarization plane of one beam to make it either parallel to the polarization of the adjacent beam or go in any other required direction.

A polarizing beamsplitting cube is built in with the following wavelength options: 532 nm, 632.8 nm, 800 nm, and 1064 nm; other wavelengths are available upon request. The device can also be used as a variable attenuator. The Variable Attenuator / Beamsplitter can be mounted on any posts.
