Two-photon Absoprtion
2-photon fluorescence of lens tissue stained with 2% Evans Blue (Sigma-Aldrich). A 65 fs Cr:forsterite laser lasing at 1250 nm was used to induce two-photon absoprtion in the Evans Blue dye. Nonlinear abosrption of the 65 fs pulses allows the dye to absorb two photons at 1250 nm and re-emit at 680 nm.
